What fun we had up on the field last Thursday morning! The children loved the challenge of climbing on the obstacle course.
And the LOVED wading in the long grass at the top of the hill – which became a whole new imaginary world..
We climbed the hill..
And of course ran down again..and again…and again! (Guess who enjoyed that bit the most!)
After all this exercise, we relaxed for a picnic snack!
Our new self registration where we choose a little object from the basket on the way in, with our parent or carer, and then go and put it in our little box, is very popular. One of the aims is to encourage language and chatting. So see what interesting words you can come up with to describe your child’s choice of object. Or ask them questions about it. And please be on the look out for new objects for us! We have a box to collect them in.
The Big Shed
This is also proving very popular – especially for cutting up ribbon and paper into tiny pieces, and for pulling long bits of sellotape! All complex skills that need much practice! It is also a great place for reading stories to babies!
Dance session – Monday 26th 9.15-9.45am
It’s not too late to come and join in with this one off dance session on Monday – just come along (with £2 per child donation) – parents and carers are welcome to join in – or just watch. This is being lead by LP Dance in Education, who will hopefully be running a weekly session with us after Christmas.
I’ll add these on to the ‘dates’ tab – but so as you know, Harvest Festival is on Thursday 20th October – check your school newsletters in your draw for exact times. Stampers will be singing a song with reception class. This is not ideal for the 2 year olds, as the hall is very crowded and they need to sit still for a long period! So unless it is your child’s normal session, it’d be a good idea to wait until next year for the littlest ones.
And on November 1st, the online portal for school admissions opens – so if your child is due to start school in 2017, you need to apply.
Finally, does anyone have an old radio or CD cassette player, or computer tower – we would like to dismantle them, and examine all the little bits inside. Please let Siobhan know.
