What can I say! You have all been amazing and we will miss you in Stampers. I would like to thank all the parents/carers and extended families for the brilliant support we have had this year. As well as looking after your children, you have supported lots of events to raise money for Stampers, which is very much appreciated and necessary. Hopefully I will find out some amounts raised figures soon and let you know….we’ve had the Tiddly Triathlon, the Sports Day refreshments and mini fair tombola, a coffee morning organised by a parent, a charity Chinese banquet and raffle at the Queen’s Head in Great Whittington, a sponsored Gung Ho assault course, a plant stall at Matfen Fete. With so many of your children heading off to school this year, we could really do with a few new committee members, so let us know if you are interested. It’s a fabulous way of getting to know other parents. school, Stampers and staff much better.
We had a lovely day for Sports Day with Reception, as you can see from the photos…
We have also been fascinated by watching our ants tunnelling in their new nest
and our caterpillars spinning their cocoons and turning into butterflies, which we released on a lovely sunny day.
Finally, we had a fabulous and moving Leavers Celebration for those off to pastures new – some to Stamfordham First School Reception, some to other reception classes, and some moving away altogether.
On the subject of moving, we are also sad to be saying cheerio to Valentina and Toni. Valentina will be working in Newcastle. She has had an ridiculously intense year learning her new job, studying for her Early Years Teacher Status/Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate, and being mam to a baby! She has come out with flying colours, so congratulations Valentina, and good luck in your new job. Toni, we have only just found out, will be moving ‘south.’ We wish Toni and her family all the best in their new home. We will really miss them both, and thank them for their fantastic work for Stampers in the last year.
Finally – if you find you have lost anything, please let us know and we will look. Any wellies not reclaimed or officially donated will either be kept or binned (lots have holes!). I have put the suncream for any children going into Stamfordham reception, that I could read the names of, through in their new classroom – and that leaves a fair bit where the names have faded. Please come and see if you can spot your sun cream and we will rename!
Have a fantastic summer holiday everyone, and look forward to seeing many of you back in September, as well as welcoming a few new children (first day of opening is Wednesday 7th September).
